What is Upselling?

Upselling is a sales technique that persuades a customer to buy something additional or expensive while making a purchase. Upselling includes selling better features or specifications of the selected product, an upgrade or more expensive version of what they are buying, or any add-ons.
While it usually includes pitching more profitable services or products, upselling can also just involve introducing the customer to new possibilities they may not have considered.
