What is CVV?

CVV stands for Card Verification Value and it is a three digit code that is required for making an online purchase. CVV code is available at the back of Visa and MasterCard and in the front of American Express cards.
For the eCommerce industry, it is a useful fraud prevention tool that ensures that the customer who is buying also has access to the physical card. But, you must not mistake it with the four-digit ATM PIN number.
