What is Shopping Cart Abandonment?

When a potential consumer begins the checkout process for an online order but abandons it before completing the transaction, it is known as shopping cart abandonment. Any item that the customer adds to their shopping cart but never completes the transaction is labeled “abandoned.”
The total number of completed transactions divided by the total number of transactions that began defines the shopping cart abandonment rate.
